40 Day Easter Challenge

40 Day Easter Challenge

Welcome!

As part of our theme for this year, “Hitting the Mark”, we would like you to join us for our 40 Day Easter Challenge.

Matthew 26:36 … Jesus went … to the olive grove called Gethsemane…37 He took Peter, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed. 38 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” 40 Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour?”

We have entered a time known as Lent. This is a period of time leading up to Easter Sunday.  Lent has been acknowledged for centuries as a time to draw near to God and seek a closer walk with Him as we recognize what His Son did for us on the cross and His victory over death. Wednesday, February 17th, begins forty days to Easter Sunday. The number one way to get to know God better, find strength, wisdom, and a closer walk with Him is through prayer and Mediation (Thinking) on specific scriptures.

The Challenge is to spend one hour with Jesus each day for the next 40 Days in specific scripture mediation and Prayer in a area or areas of need or growth for your life and circumstances.

Areas such as worry, anxiety, finances, healing, forgiveness, wisdom, children, broken hearts, addictions, Drawing near to God, knowing His will for you.

Joshua was instructed by God to ….
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua1.

When you meditate, read the scripture.
What is the promise or teaching in it?
Repeat the scripture out loud.
Then Pray the Scripture out loud.

Example:  Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

This Scripture is speaking about Jesus. What does His suffering and death mean for you? What are the promises contained in this scripture? One promise concerned healing for our soul and body.

Below are 9 areas that we have given scriptures on. Do not feel limited to these 9 areas. Pray and meditate on scriptures that speak to the issues in your life:
